It still does in Japan, just look at how popular NJU was. But obviously, having an extremely well-built 3D system will only work for a global audience if all of your talents live in the same country. So, while Holo spent its money branching out to the west, Niji stayed in Japan.

The problem with rope jumping seems to be the persons aren't the same height as their model, I don't think it will ever work out.

Completely agree. Nijisanji's 3D is not better than Hololives... because, compared to Nijisanji's 3D, Hololive doesn't have 3D at all, maybe 2.5D at most, but most likely somewhere like 2.25D.
In other words, Holo is not there yet to even start comparing it with something like Niji 3D.

Hololive has some nice lighting when it comes to their Youtube concerts, there's something about the shiny hair that looks nice. I saw Korone's concert where she sang Renai Circulation.
Their models also fit the people's heights better than Nijisanji who have way more 'diverse' models, super tall and super short, even if the person behind it doesn't match. Not really 3D's issue more like the company's issue

To me, it seems like Nijisanji are more willing to use a greater amount of post processing effects. Holo 3D (outside of major concerts like holofes) feels very "flat" in comparison.

He had really good FPS performance in his. I thought all those whales and lights would make it lag but it didn't lag too badly. Like I said they have good 'concert' lighting. The singing portions looked nicer than the fucking around portions.

Niji is indeed has a superior 3Dtech. Too bad it's all wasted on their shitty character designs. Only handfulls are actually looking good with their techs. As for the rest of them, the good 3D just make it more clear how shitty the designs and how it just doesnt "fit" the given techs. Kinda like rendering those shitty cctv footage into 4k
