>>16134018Many EN songs beat it. and Myth or Treat is an original EN song that beats it hands down.
Rating: 7/10 -1 for some lyrical difficulty,-1 for some mixing shenanigans, and -1 for Kiara's section utterly destroying the flow for a portion of the song... should probably be a -2, but I'll be kind.
Unfortunately Thousand Years doesn't have as good a flow as myth or treat, nor is the MV as inspired. The mixing is alright, except for near the ending where it goes off the rails into weird shit at 3:05. Portions of the singing also strain with lyrics too fast. Ame sort of struggles over 'memories' like that, and Kiara's whole section is just trash because of it. Gura almost became guilty for it on the 'to the sea' bit, but her quality carried it. Calli is a bit of a weird choice for the 'love and friends' bit at the end, and the 'pairings they give there are rather... interesting, but i'll accept it as is, and it will provide new content for the lore seeking community to pore over.
While the flow isn't as good as Myth or Treat, its not exactly bad overall, and I think the star power of EN will carry it to a million relatively quickly. Artists and lore seekers will salivate over deriving meaning from the lyrics, though they are somewhat vaguer and less defined than Myth or Treat's. Perhaps its to give it a more 'fantastical' feeling and be more in character with the character lore, but it also makes the song feel a bit more generic. Overall I will consider this song a small success just for the fact that its myth working together on a non-memey original song, and it didn't completely bomb in the mixing or singing department. Farhan should try experimenting less though on the mixing. Go for what works and don't try to 'put your own unique twist' on the works. First build up a reputation for solid mixing. He's had a good start with Reflect and Myth or Treat, don't break it now in arrogance.
I think they'll probably lurk here to see actual opinions, looking elsewhere is pointless due to hugbox status.
