If the Youtube algorithm prioritized discovery instead of trends, you could potentially achieve a much more vibrant vtuber scene with a better spread of opportunity and fandom. While this would come at the expense of the big corpos' current popularity, a fan of one might not even notice a change in their output.
You'd still have Hololive to be a fan of, nijifans would have Nijisanji, but next to them you'd also have a stronger 774, Prism, Tsunderia, NoriPro, several other agencies capable of rivaling them, more visible indies, a livelier /vt/ etc. That's the (pipe) dream.
