And when i'm just trying to be entertained by livestreaming comedians, i don't give a shit about any related politics (up to the point where it causes my oshi to be forcibly graduated).
This isn't a political board, so i'm not going to wax poetic about it, but i hate current day china politically. The way their country operates goes completely against the libertarian ideals i ascribe to. My hatred of coco has nothing to do with supporting china, it's just because she was a big factor in getting my oshi graduated
Haato (my first oshi, and my 3rd favorite tied with Civia) did nothing wrong, she showed those analytics and didn't realize that the chinese would have a fit over it. she no doubt got a briefing after that point telling her to avoid china/taiwan related topics on stream for this exact reason, she got her short "vacation", and after finishing it everything was going to be fine. But then you had coco, who knew exactly what she was doing. it wasn't a coincidence that she did exactly the same thing that chammers did in such a close timeframe. She just couldn't help herself, she couldn't just leave things be, she had to put the target on her own back to protect haato, so haato didn't have to be punished alone for pissing off the chinese. What chammers did wasn't political, what coco did was, because she was making a stand against chinese politics, and how cover chose to interact with those chinese fans.
In a perfect world none of this would have happened, but in the real world there are just some topics you have to avoid at work, even if they're perfectly acceptable to talk about in private. Haato didn't know that this was one of them, coco did
