why do some hololive models look like shit?
they almost look like they were made with an entirely different software?
i get why cocos model looked like shit, but why would a 2021 model like irys look this bad?

This thread reminds me of a superchat Kiara got once, asking her about accesories, doing things like vtuber studio does where you can rig objects to your model and it gets tracked.
She said that the reason for not having that is because Cover wanted consistency across all their models.

Problem with this is that Hololive has no consistency, from models to rigging, the only similar holo's are the ones with the same rigger but outside of that its kind of a mess.

IRyS filtered out the worst people and her streams are so great because of it. Her model filters out casuals who are more interested in drama than the actual chuuba. Then her proclaiming her love of traps pissed off all the trannies and filtered them out.

In a vacuum she really isn't ugly. I don't think her design is great, but it's not particularly bad either. It's just that the art style looks a bit uncanny when it moves and it looks REALLY out of place next to any other Holo.

Nah the real reason is Japanese corporate autism. Nijisanji has the same problem where their vtuber studio app can only attach some retarded frankenstin screw and black eyeglasses and not much else, with no option to attach PNGs like twitch chuubas do, and Nijisanji is known to have crazy diverse models with varying artstyles, they're too lazy to upgrade the app to the point where they're still shipping old iphones to new debuts
