>>16575216Well, there's a LOT to ark. Its actually significantly more complicated than you think it is ESPECIALLY since i played multiplayer pvp (which means that people formed grand coalitions that spanned multiple servers with logistics and some servers being "farm X ammo or resource only to distribute to other servers" etc.) so you can unironically end up in grand-strategy-general if you are the leader of a clan and how high up the coalition chain you are.
Single player there's 4 "stages" of Ark.
>What in the actual fuck am I doing OH GOD OH FUCK ITS GONNA KILL METhis is the filter stage. You are going to die, a LOT, in this game as a low level, uneducated peasant with no armor and no technology. Its genuinely frustrating and in multiplayer these people either get given advice to see if they make it on their own (potential recruit) or bullied into quitting (people who bitch about dying all the time)
>Ok, I have a wood base and tamed a few dodos, I think I get how this game works nowAt this point they actually still have no idea how this game works and are doing things horribly inefficiently. However, at this stage they can tame cute things and passive animals and maybe smaller predators. Here is when we will see mumei squee like the BEAR TUSHIE and the potential to get invested/addicted may kick in. If you don't like the game by this point, don't play.
>Things are looking up, I have a metal box that hides my dinos from the outside world, a functioning smelting/crafting system, and flying dinos that don't run out of stamina in 30 fucking seconds (last I played the highest wild dino level was 150, and at 1x taming speed depending on the dino could take anywhere from 20 minutes with prime-time taming foods, or legitimately 8 hours (this is where the team aspect was more than necessary because people take turns watching over it))At this point you have good gear, good work dinos (ankylo, the club one for metal, Beavers for wood, argents, the big birds, for heavy lifting, and a Rex and stego for Meat/berry collecting). From here on out you can consider yourself a genuine ark player and not a newfag. Now that you're well established, you are going to want to start BREEDING FOR STATS (Mumei and Sana's autism peak). Each dino has multiple "base stats" such as HP, oxygen (underwater breathing), stamina, attack, movement speed etc. When you personally level them up, you can add points to whatever. However breeding takes the BASE STATS (once fully tamed because you get a bonus for that depending on if it was injured or how good your taming food is) And gives you a 50-50 shot for which one to pick between the mom and dad. So if you have a Dad with high attack and a mom with high HP, you can potentially breed a baby with high attack and HP
>I have a massive collection of perfected stats Dinos, I don't even bother taming wild ones that aren't the max level, and I even have "blueprints" (items you can find that give you advanced versions of the stuff you can craft normally, think "legendary pistol" etc.) and the base is covered in turrets and I am now bored as all fuckCongradulations, you have beaten single player ark. You can now face the bosses that will kill half your squad of dinos you bring with you, or you can make a new base elsewhere on the map to gain a presence on the large maps if you have a big group of people.
At this point if you aren't building up hoards of guns, ammo, and extra dinos for war with other servers, there is nothing left to do in this game. Any hololive player who isn't going to have factions that fight each other should quit and either transition to a new map to start all over again (each map has new challenges and bosses) or never play ark again,
