With Mori and Kiara, if they don’t turn SCs off they’ll never finish reading them. Kiara in particular already goes on for hours clearing through her backlog on most streams. Presumably that mentality filtered down to the rest when they bother doing SC readings. Council, on the other hand, could benefit from leaving them on, as is the case with Mumei, who got a boost after she decided to leave them on until she gets through everything from before the reading.

So we’re two hours away from 24 hours since Mumei’s song release. It’ll likely hit 400k views and 80k likes (beating both Kanatas and Towa by a wide margin and closing in on Watame’s original) come then or close to it. Pretty damn good numbers with all things considered. For how advertised HoloJP members are as “idols”, people give two shits about supporting their music careers apart from select few so it’s refreshing to see EN getting some form of success in their originals.

18 hours in and Mel's Animal cover has yet to break 50k views; unfortunately it looks like this will be yet another numbers flop for her when compared to her Hololive peers. Fauna is a great performer and she just flies under the radar for everybody. Her viewership is extremely consistent and pretty good to boot. Her ASMR streams all do well and easily get 300k VOD views. Mumei and Kronii are probably more popular but Fauna is the most consistent performer in Council.

Really all the criticisms of Council can be solely attributed to Kronii. She is the breakout star and is thus the face of the branch so she kind of absorbs all the attention (COUNCIL IS 5 KRONIIS!!!). Mumei, Bae, and Fauna all have pretty consistent streaming schedules full of a variety of content and get good viewership. Of course there is Sana too but she is the runt so her overall impact is minimal.

I think a lot of that has to do with how JP just does not have any vod watching culture. Once a stream ends people just dip out or watch another streamer. You can even look at Pekora’s 3d live stream and how slow the growth has been despite being Pekora and it being one of the biggest streams you’ll see of her year round. the "mainstream" audience pool to grow your own numbers are just not there. you get recycled viewers and if you're lucky, you can bring sufficient % of your own yt audiance with you

You do know there was a recent Jump King trend where xqc and other streamers all tried Jump King and got great numbers right?
It's not a vtuber thing, people on twitch are very familiar with Jump King.

Also, Jump king is the type of stream where you put on the side and tune in when they make progress.
That's one of the main differences that kills youtube numbers compared to twitch: being not counted when you tab out.
