I do have a problem with vtubers thinking it's A-OK that they pander to a parasocial relationship while currently fucking a man in real life though. It is dishonest and downright disgusting.

The most simple solution to your problem is to not watch that vtuber, it's so fucking simple. They are allowed to have their private lives and fuck whoever they want to fuck. They are playing a role anon, they are an actor/actress, not your girlfriend, get over it.

Yes, because normal people don't get invested that much with an online personality, they understand that people have needs and that there are real people behind the avatar with their own relationships.

What do you mean "vtuber" culture? There isn't one single vtuber culture, every company has their own fucking fanbase and culture surrounding them, same goes for indies. Do you think that VShojo, Niji and Hololive all have the same exact culture?
On idol culture, that shit is a toxic cesspool and always has been, of course now that vtubing has started interesting more mainstream creators this aspect is going to be criticized a lot. When I think of idol culture I think of that woman who got stabbed 30 times by her crazy fan or that one girl who had to shave her head because she was caught with a guy. It's fucking ridiculous and I don't need to tell you that any normal sane person thinks that this stuff shouldn't be celebrated. This is engraved in idol culture and that's why most people absolutely despise it.
