It's one thing to make fan art because you think it's hot and want others to enjoy the hotness, but shippers, just as with unicorns, will only take things too far and even fight you for their preferred ship to win and will often peer pressure their targets into getting their desired pair. They're also the same people that are most likely to view fictional characters as real and will sperg out if you portray them in R-18+ material in any way whatsoever.
The difference between shippers and unicorns is that one group is socially acceptable due to their high composition of "oppressed minorities".
