Crossick had a nice way to solve this, irl they just use nicknames all the time so even if they slip up on stream or something it won't reveal anything too personal. Only one we know so far is Tomoe calling Sukoya "Honey", though.

When Coco broke down because of chinkery a month or so ago she called Kanata by "Kanatan".
And that was with emotions on full blast and tears just about breaking through despite great effort on her part to suppress it.
This tells me that they probably do call themselves by their screen names out of habit as only habit would've stopped her calling Kanata by her real name in such a moment where regular self control breaks down.

I would agree with you if everyone was working their ideal job, but it's definitely not natural to be doing some arbitrary task with an arbitrary group of people that you have zero connection to. natural workplaces like startups and small business are often formed by groups of like minded people. coworkers in the corporate/industrial sphere are a completely different thing and I don't think that it's an outrageous distinction.
