This is what concerns me about MH. If they were to play it they would, how many hours are they going to put the effort into finishing story mode? Story mode is easy to finish, the extra stuff is the important part of this game. Like upgrading weapons, grinding for the materials, getting good at the game, and are they willing to put forward 1200+ hours on the game?

I love playing it but hate watching it in stream form, I'll watch an occasional vid of a speedrun or something but I've never managed to watch someone actually stream it for like longer than 30 minutes. This might also be the only game where I cannot stand watching people worse/new/bad at the game play while I normally find that kind of behavior cringe.

it's just not good for streaming, if the streamer is new they'll suck at it and it takes too long to get competent and by that time they'll have changed games for engagement, and if you're good at it you just grind the same monsters over and over and there's a lack of tension/reason to watch unless there's some overtuned dlc monsters.

best bet would be someone average at the game like flare

They work for a company and Japan enforces laws more strictly. In theory they need permission (and they do ask, I believe) from Western publishers too but most of those are aware streaming is good for business so they allow it.

The reason they need the permission is 100% just because they work for Cover though, if they were indie they wouldn't need the permission for the most part.

Monhun especially in Japan isn't considered always solo games, It would be much better if they actually play in party instead, since the bad play can be concealed with some banter or shenanigans.

the more people you play with the less damage each one has to deal to the monster proportionally to less players. So that way the grind becomes easier and faster for her, she can also go collect materials while lunaitos go hunt the monster for her.

Maybe some of them, but pretty much every single one of them has a Switch and Rise is going to be the hot shit as soon as it drops. Coco will probably do World though, she has a World themed PS4 I believe.

Japan has no fair use laws so there is a risk of your stream being taken down by game companies. Many have their own guidelines for streaming content for individuals but Hololive is under a company which needs a separate agreement. Mio's channel nearly got wiped off Youtube when Capcom surprise struck two of her videos, causing the Holo-caust where most of their archives were privated until they had explicit permission from copyright owners.

As long as they keep it mostly as a collab game, I'd have no problems with it.

Demos don't really do it justice. I didn't like the MH3U demo but I loved the concept so much I bought it anyway and it was much easier to get into when you start from the bottom.
