They were so obsessed with trying to totally ruin her and obnoxiously overshot any realistic outcome, now they've cucked themselves out of getting anything. They can't back away now though, they need to ride it to the end. Like some drama junky that got a shit dose but needs to act like it's the best high ever. I kind of want to pity them.
