She has depression and some mental illness that prevents her from having a real life job as per suggestion of her psychiatrist, also shes not good with irl socialising. When she was a little kid, her mom, as standard for japanese, refused to take her to a head doctor when it was suggested she may have issues. She was being charged a rent too large from her mom, but recently managed to negotiate the price down. She would like to move out, but hasn't got the enough money to do so.
Some say even if she had the money, her job insecurities would prevent her from having a place rented to her anyway.
Just a tragic case.

Why doesn't she just find herself essentially any sane, man with a day job that'll take care of her and let her stream as a hobby?
It's not like you ever have to work in your life if you're a woman and really don't want to. She wouldn't have to settle with any abusive nutcase, since the western world is full of perfectly well-adjusted successful men in good physical shape who live alone. Japan is probably particularly good in this regard.
