They've had over a year now to start on it yet the only one who has made any significant progress is Subaru. Off the top of my head, Marine dropped her English conversation lessons and never went back to get grammar/vocab ones, Noel has apparently continued with Duolingo but >Duolingo, Gura said she would study and a year later during her umisea and Shion collabs she threw around the same words as when she debuted, Ame said about a year ago that she was looking for a Japanese teacher and then just the past week she repeated the same exact words, and probably other examples I'm forgetting.
People are here to watch the girls have fun, but to also watch them grow and improve. Seeing their struggle from little/no English knowledge to conversational level or even fluency is endearing and makes people invested.
Apart from Lui, Iroha and Koyori from the same gen seem to be trying to work on their English. I'm not sure how long the three of them will continue to do so, but I'm hoping it encourages some of their senpais to actually put some effort into learning another language.
