We know that Hime was announced when VShojo launched, so we have to assume she was already included in the planning stages before that, which means many people have known that Hime / Syd was joining VShojo for a while, including undoubtedly Gigguk and probably the other two Trash Taste guys. TT has two episodes about vtubers, one that aired in October and one that aired in November (but were filmed well before that), with the November show featuring Mori Calliope. Hime was supposed to debut in December but due to shenanigans wouldn't debut until January. Connor appears on Lewdcast in his vtuber model which he made partially in response to those Trash Taste podcasts November 20th, 4 days before VShojo launched. Mousey and Connor start playing together in late January and have become friends since. However, they also are mutual friends with Nux Taku, so they have connections beyond Hime.
Are all of these things coincidental? Who the fuck knows. I don't find it all that weird that as VShojo and western vtubing took off that there would be some cross over with them. The thing is, during the TT podcasts about vtubing they purposely stuck to Hololive and Nijisanji and individually as they talked about vtubers they also did the same, making passing mentions of Melody because of her influence / infamy. This MIGHT be on purpose to prevent any kind of appearance of favoritism with VShojo and Hime, but I don't know. Connor is the only one who interacts with Mousey and Melody but, again, they have other mutual ties.
