Nobody in Hololive is gonna start their job with a money-hoarding mindset out of fear for instability in the vtuber market. Cover provides them with salaries and money from merch and sponsorship deals that will keep them afloat even if superchat/membership numbers somehow take a nosedive. If that weren't the case, their talents would have no reason not to just go indie and embrace reincarnation popularity incline, brand ownership and networking opportunities carried over from their previous persona.
In the distant future, Cover might have to figure out some way of providing their talents with a stable income even after they retire anyway, because some of them are clearly in it for the long haul and I don't see them graduating for any reason other than old age.
