>>17617347Risu did have a window where, before holoEN existed she (and hana macchia) were kind of the only ways to get a Japanese-managed vtuber experience in English in some form. However when HoloEN came out suddenly just speaking English alone wasn't good enough to get you noticed in the West anymore. Instead, now they with their thick accents and slow talking get compared to the native English speakers and while they can still compete in the West it's now way way harder.
This is a big piece of why Reine/Ollie instantly took off really, they speak English so clearly they got accepted as EN 1.5s. Rather Ollie has an accent but bizarrely, it sounds really really cute on her and not the others, and Reine has a super light accent that's barely there. Moona's accent also used to be thicker but she speaks it pretty well now. I can't be sure it'd help anya/iofi/risu incline but if they want Western growth the key is speaking English as close to perfect as possible. they don't have to do this, it'll just help them get noticed by us if they wanted that.
