I use Cubase with Spectralayers and several other plug-ins now. I still use Audacity from time to time.
My experience with the new programs is that I get to efficiently extract every specific sound. It absolutely destroyed my workflow though (I got used to it now) and it takes a lot of time on some soundbits because different kinds of sounds are overlapped; I use a mouse and wish that I have funds for a tablet and pen. I still get amazed from time to time what Spectralayers can do.
I can't believe I got into this just because of Irys, and it is far from my initial expertise, but I'm happy with it.

Marine has singer's nodes. That is an entirely different situation.
As far as we know right now, IRyS went to the doctor because she experience throat pain, they saw some inflammation in there so they told her to rest and gave her some medication (we don't know what. My guess is some sort of prescription strength NSAID but who knows)
So it seems now that the amount of rest and the medicaitons aren't giving her relief so she's going to see a specialist. I doubt the ENT she saw would miss nodules on her vocal cords so I don't expect much big news from the new doctor other than a more vocal cord focused treatment plan.

The harsh reality is that she might not. She's never in her life had to perform in the capacity that she has been. Maybe she just isn't physically capable of it. She may learn that she will have to cut out streaming to be able to perform her vsinger obligations without killing her throat.

She rested for almost two weeks and it hasn't helped much. At this point, she needs the specialist to see what other treatment she needs. If she is not over exerting her throat, her condition likely will not worsen. Resting for a full 3rd week likely will not provide much improvement either as it hasn't helped her the first 2 weeks.

Run the logic through your head. It isn't that it didn't fully heal her, it didn't help her much at all. If she saw improvements, then maybe resting is helping, but she said "it didn't feel much different". If something isn't working, you need to try something else.

It is an arbitrary number given by the doctor who prescribed her to rest. If her doctor didn't see improvements, then resting is not the proper treatment to heal her. She just need to watch herself and not over use her vocal cords to cause further injuries.

Are you a doctor or have expertise in how long someone need to rest their throat for it to recover from an injury that you haven't personally diagnosed? Should she not talk for 2 months? 6 months? 1 year? As long as she isn't killing her throat, doing a few short streams here any there probably won't further injure her.

I am not, but her doctor originally said that she can talk for work. She was going an extra mile to not talk at all hoping that it will help her recover faster. Doing short streams would be equivalent to talking for work. (and yes, she mention to her doctor that she has to talk a lot for her work).
