Sora is pretty much the face of Corpo chuubas trying to be idols, if she's gone then the spot gets pretty much empty, A.I. chan isn't that popular among peers anymore so no way of reclaiming the crown and none of the other big hitters of Hololive seems like they can live up to the reputation, not FBK, not Peko, not Gura (not that she could handle it anyways) or Mooners at all and probably none of the ENs or IDs.
At that point, either hyper-competition kicks in among corpos or the VTuber fad dies a bit, specially when the inevitable graduation stream/event ends and we all press F to pay respects while blasting Sora's entire trajectory.
Worse case scenario, other Holos who doubted their job slightly for a variety of reasons (like Korone or Mel or even Calli) see that they can “walk out” of it with grandiose and while keeping somewhat of a fanbase so a massive chain reaction of graduations kicks in and even Niji's start going out with a bang, I can already see several D-tier corpos closing shop from one day to the other if they suddenly see VTubing dying out which in turn causes more panic and people keep selling/running away from it in an attempt to no die out with it, it's probably going to keep being big in Japan and
somewhat relevant around Asia but I don't know about the rest of the world.
