This led to a self-inflicted feedback loop. They decided that this meant that people don't respond when they shitpost about Fauna, which meant that they stopped doing that to chase attention from more "positively-responding" fanbases, which meant there was less bait being thrown at her, which meant there was even less response, which spiraled down to the current situation.
Most, if not all, shitposting habits are self-reinforced behavioral patterns. Shitposters, very early on, get a nugget of an idea in their head, and they feed that idea until it is the law in their mind, and the reality on the ground won't ever matter.
