Public apologies don't work. They never did. There were studies done on this, not to mention the exemples of youtubers or politicians/croposuits. Apology only expand demands.
The only reasonable thing to do in such situation is to ignore the issue (Cover fucked up the suspention and quarantine, they should have just hire more mods), circle the wagons, deflect, and in some cases double down.
