This is just me taking a random guess, but I think a lot of it comes down to how each group deals with questions of online identity. Millennials grew up alongside the internet and are more comfortable with compartmentalizing their online and personal lives. Zoomers grew up in a world where it was a lot harder to separate those two, which I think leads to a preference for streamers that just use their actual faces.

I'd put the cut off at about 1995 or so. Basically people who grew up before the internet eclipsed everything or social media really existed

I think that's pretty accurate. I'm 26, 27 this year. I certainly don't feel like a zoomer and was browbeaten about being a millennial all through high school and immediately afterwards

Older zoomers likely used the internet before smartphones or the more modern social media sites (Facebook, Twitter etc.) really took off. I was in junior high by the time my parents signed up for a Facebook account. Also these same older zoomers may already be working professionals. Kids born after 2010 are actually back to Gen Alpha, but nobody uses that name

I always saw vtubers as primarily a zoomer thing because they were completely absent during the height of millennials' cultural influence, and zoomers are more comfortable with the whole microtransactions and simping thing.

How are you defining Millennial? Because some definitions are like 1978-2003 and some are like 1980-1990. I feel like you're using one of the big ones, like 1981-2001.

Anyway the vtubers which appeal to kids (which would actually be gen alpha) like pegora and gura, the vtubers that appeal to horny teens like Mythia batford (in indonesia) generally get more views than vtubers that appeal to UUUUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOO HAG posters, who are probably in their 30s/40s.

But I suppose vtubers who appeal to hagfags/daughterufags probably get more money/memberships.

The earliest vtubers were people fucking around with the technology 10 years ago. A 40 year old now was only 30 in 2012 and a 25 year old was 15. Ai started in 2016. They would have been 34 and 21 then.
