This isn't really true. There's a lot of people who like NTR who don't like 'hard' NTR where the focuses on emotional pain. I'd say the 'mainstream' NTR focuses on the seduction/corruption aspect and the cheating stuff just adds to the stakes of it which makes it more interesting.

I personally like the latter but won't really bother with NTR if the focus is too much on the betrayal/pain stuff because it's pretty unpleasant.
