You might have a serious side of you where anything work-related is sterile and professional and so, it's unfathomable to see someone act mopey and retarded/goofy/odd as part of their job, but it really really is for a Holo. They sell personalities not talent, at least not in the usual showbiz way of acting/singing/dancing. So their engagement and interactions with the viewers are all in fact essential to really selling that personality to people, for example the Rushia stalking users type posts and such really help sell her as a yandere GFE type.
