Yes but at least in the form of 2d games/anime/VNs etc the authors can make actually-ideal/perfect people, the only way you can get backstabbed by a 2d is if the author decides to be a dick and the vast majority aren't.

With 3d presented in the guise of 2d acting like it's pure and innocent and pretending to love the consumers, it's the honor system.
