>>18234889I mean you could only be under this impression if you were in the know about the drama but incase you're genuine.
There is lying and then theres kayfabe. Kayfabe is "the character", areas of mutually accepted mistruths between roommate and audience, often in the form of unsubtle euphamism (idol meeting = bathroom i think is common). Both parties agree to not acknowledge the "lie" despite both knowing it is. You essentially lampshade the lie and be entertained by the irony. Gura talks about growing up in atlantis to avoid mentioning her actual place of birth/potential residence. Ina uses priestess duties as code for her freelance work. Noone ever tells you this, you just know that gura isnt actually atlantean or ina isnt actually a priestess to an elder god. And more importantly they serve as a functional substitute for what isnt being said. Atlantis is a place, priestess duties are an occupational obligation.
A lie, on the other hand, confuses the information. "I'm sick" is not an effective substitute for "I didnt want to stream today" because the latter is a choice. And "im single, lonely and have formed a parasocial relationship with my chat" is not an effective substitute for "Im actually in a long term relationship, and only pretend to be your gf".
Does that clear things up my dude?
