Twitch is a really shitty platform but, a lot of western independent vtubers feel the need to use it due to some of the features allowing for easy growth.
I never really understood the appeal of those features but an indie I really like recently had the chance to raid some of her friends on twitch and it was pretty cute. I felt happy for her.
She's welsh and doesn't have a screechy voice if you or anyone for that matter, want to check her out.

I understand your gripe with twitch, especially when camwhores are only one of like 12 issues the site has but, not everyone on twitch is a camwhore. There are actually quite a few seiso indie vtubers on the platform. Hopefully they can become big and switch to youtube someday.
