>>18285394mmm im not really geting it across to you, what I mean is an idol is someone given devotion, and also is something committed to.
The whole point of an idol is putting fans first before other life goals. If other life goals are more important than those fans who support you, then they are not an idol. An idol's 'boyfriend' is essentially their fanbase. That is just how it is, the ideal.
Of course reality is much different, and vtuber streamers aren't expected to be full idols 24/7. For Hololive though, a vtubing idol company (self stated), they are expected to be dedicated to their fanbases for the time they are on screen, and be professional enough to keep that idea going and not break those expectations while on screen. Outside work, then can do as they wish, as long as their image on screen is secure.
Here is an example of a professional who gives a convincing image of putting her fans first before other life priorities.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6vRXqBCFH4The genuine sounding emotions there might not even be true, but she hasn't let it slip. That's a pro, and 35p are intensely loyal to her because of the care she shows. Even if it is a lie, she takes the effort to make sure that lie is hidden, and I don't think someone who doesn't value their fanbase could do that indefinitely.
