Trashing using chuubanite for gravity machines idea. In order to change earth's gravity you need to have a mass equal to earth's gravity nearby. Obviously a mass that big cannot exist in the station let alone exist near earth without apocalyptic results. If /nasa/ wants zero-g rugby again then they have to enter orbit. Chuubanite cannot affect gravity as gravity can only be affected by mass.

One thing to note about Chuubanite is that it loves to bond. The pure stuff is unstable makes sense because Chuubanite is always looking for matter to bond with. The ores are less powerful but are stable because chuubanite is fused. Once Chuubanite fuses with matter it is very difficult to seperate from it. Also Chuubanite in plants and fungi is very common. So plants and animals of this world sometimes have fantastic features and evolutions. Like /rose/'s pig people with roses growing in them or deadbeats being walking talking skeletons.

Also to answer an anon wanting to combine shrooms and Chuubanite: its a bad idea. Now having psychadellic shrooms grow from Chuubanite enriched soil bonding with the shroom naturally is a different story.

One idea is to burn away the impurities or melt the impure elements out. You still lose some Chuubanite, but you can extract a purer form. I thought about refining Chuubanite into some form of oil or liquid where either it acts like gasoline or a car battery. You can program circuits with it, which could explain /rbc/'s robot prosthetics. /nasa/ thought about cutting out the impurities with lasers, but that didn't go well.

This is not your mother's Kona Kampachi, this is super niche aquaculture that can only exist in a fantasy world. Once that was settled, we started selling excess catch to the people of the Despotate of /nijikr/ (or whatever the name of their autonomous/federated unit is) since, well, irl gooks stir fry them.

It did not escape our notice that the jostling and general experience of being transported overland, live, in barrels (not particularly difficult) manufactures A LOT more slime over time than just having slaves swirl their forearms in a vat for 3 hours a day, and it makes sure an ample supply is fresh for maronitrium manufacture--this allowed us to consciously move a portion of our defense industry inland into more rural areas. Also, scientists located at non-coastal academies/universities now have lots and lots of worms and primitive fish to cut up on their dissection tables, so we have pretty good biological sciences too.

depends. fleshgrafting can allow people to reattach limbs. Mai-chan's abilities would do that too, but it being a perfect healing, it always creates the same body in the end while Mai-chan's blessing is imperfect. this might mean that we can make, as some anons have described in the past, eldrich flesh abominations by fusing multiple body parts together. this would be a massive waste of body parts, and would require certain neural wiring to get everything to work properly, but unless the thread is opposed to it, it might be possible specifically because of the imperfect healing of Mai-chan's blessing. it depends on how others view it.

The way I see it is, in the natural environment i.e. without the use of fleshgrafting or other chuubanite-powered qualities, the two bodies probably will regenerate on their own (assuming proper nutritions) without merging with each other.
If they're forcefully merged together (either by fleshgrafting or just stitching them together), I assume only one of the personalities will survive as the "mind" of the merged being, although it might be able to gain some degree of access in terms of memories (or mental episodes, as it happens) from the subsumed person.

We briefly touched on it a few threads ago without a consensus, but what IS /hlgg/ in this world? Despite the vocal anti-split sentiment that exists there, it's well documented that there's a plurality of posters there that also crosspost in their oshi's respective splits. I know certain splits are more pro-Global than others, but it's important to consider that even if Global isn't necessarily present in a split, splits are definitely present in Global.
Personally, I think this lends credence to the idea that it exists as the center of a sort of EU-esque existence on the Holo-continent, where the participating split threads send delegates to do whatever administrative things at the seat of government.

good so far, but the act of fracturing and breaking bones is meant to make the bones more dense. see muay thai advocating kicking concrete and steel blocks specifically to fracture the bones while on a dairy-centric diet. it's the same process that leads to muscle growth. also, chuubanite bonds to things on the atomic level, mixing it with stuff to make cookies would make it less potent, but the bonding of atoms is where the power is derrived (assuming it is supposed to have comparrisons to nuclear physics) i always figured that the unique /meat/centric effect of chuubanite would be to promote rapid regeneration and growth, hence the rapid cancerous growth and imperfect recovery as potential nerfs. i figured we would just get as pure a concoction as we could and inject it into the blood stream like a drug, though that is assuming it could be turned into a liquid and yes, we would absolutely inject molten chuubanite directly into the bloodstream of our own soldiers, not to mention any sacrifice. i figure the activator substance would likely just be blood, or some substance found largely within blood. good job so far though.

For example /nasa/'s method of refinement creates essentially an equivalent of Element-151 for use as extremely efficient and waste free space age fuel, while /meat/'s refinement process is far more ritualistic and creates a drug that can be used to regenerate wounds?

It is both, in the case of fleshwrights' craft. The reason why IRL bone fracture healing usually makes use of fixtures is to keep the bones aligned well, so that they heal back to their original shape. In this case, though, the bones are deliberately "misaligned" so that they will heal in the desired shape instead. It is something done IRL as well, although it is usually used as an extreme way to lengthen (or shorten, I imagine) legs.

The reason I wrote that chuubanite ore is made into mud cookies (or other similar "food") is not to refine chuubanite or make it more potent, but to make it into a form that can be absorbed by the eater (usually future sacrifices). I assume a similar process can also be done by eating the sacrifice and their chuubanite-enriched flesh, although obviously it's generally done by /meat/ heads.

It's not in the rentry entry in OP, hence I leave that part out. I think the proposal implies that the reaction between chuubanite and other substances is explicitly magical, so the bonding might well be as well.

I like that idea, given how many of /meat/ chuuba have some kind of superhuman regeneration skills (out of necessity, arguably). Perhaps that is what makes fleshgrafting practical? Maybe that will also make both /meat/heads and sacrifices able to sustain more injuries (for totally different use).

Would be interesting if we can create tiny stars as a long lasting fuel source. Useless for propulsion, but great for solar-based tech. it was strongly implied the basis for chuubanite was atomic energy. my fan theory is that the only magical effect it has is it's ability to bridge the gap between the mortal and heavenly realms, the heavenly realm being dominated by the power of worship and faith. chuubanite itself is the blood of the gods, so when more gods are made, it has a toll on the amount of chuubanite somewhere withing the however many realms our universe has, more obviously when /asp/, or /become/, or /meat/'s ritual transsubstantiation, all of which, i propose, are the same process applied in different ways, ask me more about this if you want try to enter the heavenly realm through the use of a bunch of chuubanite, combined with a bunch of worship and faith. this symbolizes how someone can enter the heavenly realm, but requires worship and faith via viewers and fans to be properly considered a vtuber. otherwise, chuubanite is basically just a highly radioactive substance that fuses with anything it comes into contact. all the magic is in the heavenly realm, so we don't need to explain it beyond chuubanite. on a side note, chuubanite being the blood of the gods means returning them to the life cycle creates more chuubanite. otherwise i like everything you've done so far

Alchemy and prayer seems to be what causes chuubanite to fuse with things. For the alchemy side you have metallurgy and chemistry. There's also chuubanite enhancing biology with plants and animals. Which spiritually makes sense as plants and animals have souls too.

that's what we're trying to make it, yes. the guy who made the rentry didn't want to touch up on how the magic part of it worked, but he seemingly left room for my idea to still potentially be an explanation, and since my explanation seems to be rather poetic and fitting, i am, obviously, a rather big fanm of it. obviously if people dislike it that's fine, the part about chuuba blood makes /meat/ rather important to how much chuubanite there is in the world at any given time, but i really like the explanation.

as i said, i'm pretty sure that's literally what he meant by all of that. he even tried to address the possibility of critical mass knowing that would be too powerful by saying that it couldn't reach it in a large enough quantities to be a concern. i can't imagine reading any of that and not immidiately seeing the ties to nuclear physics, it's just too palpable.

according to the rentry, it just fuses with things. activator substances and glyphs are the two ways it can have unique effects, but what substances or glyphs do should have a basis in prayer worship and faith to connect the chuubanite to whichever god it is supposed to. so for instance, maybe the same substances or glyphs can have different effects depending on which chuuba is being prayed to. if my suggestion of chuubanite bridging the gap between the realms is taken, it might make for a good explanation as to how it works. what are your opinions or suggestions?

Another thought about chuubanite coming from heaven. /nasa/ found their first sample in an asteroid in space. Whether or not the asteroid is a piece of the planet is up in the air. You can see the lore archive in OP for more details, but the gist is that life cycles through steps of birth, suffering, death, and rebirth, but the explosion of "immortal" chuuba population throws the cycle off balance, which will eventually lead to the end of the world. As such, /meat/ takes it upon themselves to recycle life force, ideally with the immortal chuuba as they're the source of the problem, but non-chuuba still have their own life force, so by sacrificing them in the proper way, they can help keep feeding the cycle to starve off the apocalypse.
/meat/'s preference of indie compared with corpro is somewhat old lore (partly because no corpro will be openly into /meat/ stuff, I assume), but I think it can be justified as that the force behind corpro chuuba both drive the chuuba explosion, and keeping them alive far longer than they should (compared with 2view indie that just drops off after a while). Still, /meat/ is pretty egalitarian when it comes to sacrificing and eating the gods.

also, chuubanite is described as ebing influenced by whether or not your chuuba streams and what not. what about for fetist and neutral groups who don't have a chuuba, or hybrid generals that have chuubas, but also focus on a non-chuuba subject i can't think of any example besides /meat/, but the fact that /meat/ has royna/guro chuubas means other groups can have chuubas that cater to them, too.

our efforts aren't guaranteed. in fact, i was imagining the need to do multiple ritual sacrifices before it could actually bring even a weakened god down. i was also kind of imagining our cultists to set up conditions for chuubas to be weakened enough for our rituals to work behind the scenes, but nevernmind it fits lore, but it requires too much preparation to actually be used like a threat. better to do it in secrecy when the opportunity arrises, as the best actions /meat/ can take only add a force pulling deities to the mortal realm, which might not even have that much of an influence.

My personal opinion? I'd like chuubanite to be magical first and foremost, but the magic could have qualities that are analogous to physics phenomena like atomic energy.

a really long time ago we agreed that chuubas exist in their own realm, and that /vt/land is the 4chan realm [spoilerwe didn't get into whether or not there would be a twitter realm, or reddit realm, but it was somewhat implied[/spoiler:lit] and so my idea was that we could ground chuubanite in a kind of realism by saying that it connects the realms, and that if you had a large enough quantity of it, you could theoretically make a portal to another realm, but the required amount would be really large, and it would spend the energy from chuubanite very fast, so it's ultimately impractical/improbable to ever happen.

Nuclear energy is derived from bonding of particles that constitute atoms, chemical energy comes from bonding of atoms themselves. I actually did think of including a section in the proposal for a similar idea for /asp/ specifically. An idea of them being a faction of fanatical alchemists hellbent on creating their Magnum Opus, a completely new type of chuubanite, or perhaps the in-universe version of the philosophers stone; some sort of a universal chuubanite which, when ingested, would turn the one consuming it into a god.

I am not. What I am saying is that the chemical bond of a radioactive atom does not in any way affect the radioactivity of the atom, or the amount of energy released by the atom when it decays.
When an atom decays, independent neutrons can be emitted by the atom. These neutrons then can become adsorbed into other nearby atoms. If the atoms the neutrons were adsorbed into were of the right type, these atoms become unstable and decay, producing more free neutrons. When you have enough of these right types of atoms within a substance for the rate of decay to neutron adsorption into the right type of atoms be close to 1:1, then you have nuclear fuel in a critical mass.
I'm not a nuclear physicist yet either, but I study the subject.

For chuubanite to work in a similar way, it would have to be canonized that chuubanite decay itself can cause other chuubanite to decay. This would mean that chuubanite in vicinity of other chuubanite would decay faster. This was specifically proposed against in the chuubanite proposal at "Proposed general laws" section 3.a.b. since chuubanite decay affecting other chuubanite would then allow for the creation of critical, and perhaps even supercritical, masses.

Furthermore, nuclear fuel's purity is related to the number of radioactive atoms within a given volume / mass, whilst, according to the proposal, chuubanite's rate of radiation would be related to the surface area of the chuubanite object, which would make it resemble black-body radiation a lot more than nuclear radiation in effect.

Other than that, they do not. A radioactive atom existing alone in a vacuum is just as radioactive as the same atom existing bonded to another element. This is actually part reason why some radioactive isotopes are so dangerous since, if ingested, they can accumulate in the human body where they continue to be just as radioactive as they were outside of it. Radium is one example of this, since it can accumulate in your bones, making your bones radioactive.

A lot of etiquette and entertainment in /nasa/ comes down to zero gravity. We have gravity rooms that spin around the station. Though technically they're not actually gravity so much as they spin so fast it pushes you to the ceiling. The gravity rooms is where cooking and eating happens. Since stray bread crumbs in zero-g could mean a death scentence to anyone its forbidden to eat on the job. Though now that /nasa/ is earthbound they've been eating and sleeping more. When you're in a low gravity place for a long time and you come back down to Earth you feel the strain in your bones. Fortunately we have high calcium veggies and therapy to help strengthen bones. However physical labor is much harder than we're used to. Also lab grown meat and protein substitute may work in space, but we now need real animal meat for protein to rebuild our muscles. Fish and red meat needs to be reintroduced into our diets. As to ease digestion of red meat we have ways to grind the meat. Our digestive systems can't handle red meat steak at this time. Plus we have to make sure the meat doesn't have diseases and parasites as our medicines for those are limited.

I've been thinking about Sana's graduation. If she does graduate within a year then I can say /nasa/'s station's power supplies die and everyone is forced to leave the station or freeze to death. If Sana gets terminated then the station will self-destruct leaving nothing behind but a smoldering irradiated crater. There might still be some escape pods and scraps around. I would say they're probably some kind of walking natural disasters. They have enough power to hamper (but not devastated or destroy) parts of countries (sometimes parts that said countries want to purge). They likely have some kind of sentience but does not directly communicate with mortals, and their actions can be incomprehensible. Veteran /become/ poster here. See with /become/ there was never really lore or deep ritual or meaning. You have to understand there were many paths we poked at with the entire idea of /become/ from it being a result of tainted booze, flat out magic, some sort of SCP-type shit happening, etc.
Hell we had one of our better writers just have their MC just wake up suddenly as Lamy.

/become/ Lamy was the entire unifying call of the threads. And one day Boss Lamy will be back with the Doujin. It will be a good day

Yeah pretty much. /nasa/ has to build the steel mills by hand because they have no modern construction machines. They lack the people to do that. At best /nasa/ can make a workshop or a forge where they produce steel by hand. Which is inefficient for railroads. For transport /nasa/ could build a light jeep if they can make fuel. However jeeps are useless in the tundra's snow. So we just have to figure out another transport option.

Because if they are just beginning to start society from their crash then they wouldnt have an entire country the size of france on the map.
They would be considered 'settlers' in an unclaimed region.
For balance sake... I'd propose that /nasa/ starts already as an established society. They have been here for a few decades and already have basic industry and infrastructure. They have already made diplomatic actions with their immediate neighbours like trade and pacts

We've already scrambled escape pods to claim areas. Agriculture has already been set up both insude the station and outside. We have very basic metal working. Still need to build forges for steel. Inside the station we can work with aluminium alloy. We also have bakeries and food canning/sealing inside the station. So /nasa/'s got some basic infrastructure already in place despite being here for 6 months. Also keep in mind 2/3rds of the country is frozen tundra which is uninhabitable and unworkable. Its like Russia where hardly anyone lives in Siberia. I'm still waiting on tectonics before placing the quarry.

One more thing. /nasa/ does have 4G wireless networks set up throughout the region. So we have near instant telecommunication in the region. Though this doesn't work outside the region. There's a lot of essential tech that survived the crash to help get us started. Though we still need to find our factories and weapons vault that broke off the station.

/rose/ here with an idea update! I was thinking about it and decided I could totally make living in a frozen tundra work! I have an idea that Rosebutas used to live in /NijiEN/ with everyone else long ago. However, due to various reasons that could be expanded on later, they were forced out of the land. With nowhere else to go, they migrated to the frozen tundra where everyone thought they'd simply die out. But using chuubanite, they created large self-sustaining biospheres dotted around the land that allowed them to continue surviving. I can actually use that to do things like making ways for them to survive the tundra when they have to go out and face it.
That way, we don't have to move /rose/'s land and I have a fun way to make a species survive in a harsh environment!
Do you guys think that could work?

Probably! We'd likely have to create our own insulated glass to keep the heat in and the cold out. A big focus overall would be trying to build a dome that keeps things warm inside, so it's more likely that there would be dots of glass as opposed to one big glass piece. Like a giant colander or something!

To make glass you will need sand. Depending on far away from the equator you are you will also need sunlight. /nasa/ if you go up north far enough has 6 months of night. And I'm not sure how feaseable artificial sunlight is with chuubanite without space age technology. Could have a natural phenomena of roses producing sun stones that absorb sunlight during the summer then shine all winter.

Is there a sun-themed chuuba around? their chuubanite could reasonably be able to produce sunlight

the obvious downside with using chuubanite is that chuubanite is supposed to be a somewhat limited resource, and thus expensive
