In most cases I understand that "We didn't suspend them, they took a break" is just PR speak, but in this case I actually believe it.

Even if suspension is warranted, that's not how you do damage control. As they say, you reduce big problems into smaller problems, you reduce small problems into non-problems. If Anykara had its way, I bet they wouldn't even apologize and just ignore the whole thing, but I think that's one of the conditions decided amongst them, the police, and the AV company to not litigate this.
