Why did she try to pass off and monetize another artist's hard work as her own? Ignorance? Laziness? Trying to live up to expectations? These may explain her actions, but they certainly don't excuse them.
I think this would set a very bad precedent if it goes unpunished. People shouldn't be exempted from having basic ethics just because they're somebody famous or associated with a popular brand.
