Why is Vampire Survivors mogging Elden Ring? I thought Elden Ring was supposed to be the new popular game, but Vampire Survivors streams keep having more views.

Mindless game that you can turn your brain off to play/watch. You can get going and clear it if you're good and the audience will follow you and will not get bored if you're not good because you can interact with them on the regular if you're a multitask friendly streamer.

I thought the reason Elden Ring was so hyped up was because it was a collaboration between the makers of Dark Souls and Game of Thrones, both extremely popular franchises.

When it was announced, yes. Aside from the fact that Martin just picked up a check for them to use his name and didn't write a damn thing, Game of Thrones has lost all of its fans since the show bombed and it's obvious Mori's going to cuck them out of the last two books.

I already watched a fair bit of the content but realistically because the game is open world there is a lot of dead air from travel alone and the average live streamer playing like a bitch increasing dead air.
The other thing is finding upgrade caves to do decent damage against the bosses since the game is kinda cheap with the amount of souls you get. Previous souls game a boss at the same power curve gave 3x more souls but cause theres more options the rewards is lessened in Elden Ring.

Its reverse danmaku where you are the boss spamming deadly bullshit across the stream. You could kinda argue you have to dodge the enemies to get to the powerups but everythings insanely slow compared to a real shmup. Your not guaranteed a safe path between things. though it doesnt really matter cause the damage done touching an enemy is negligible unless its a boss.
