It makes no sense to integrate them into Hololive because they spent the past 2 years trying to prop up the HoloStars brand. Not to mention they just banned Stars from the HoloID MC server in anticipation for the merger with the HoloJP/HoloEN servers.
It would be a big "fuck you" to the JP Stars if they just abandoned the brand in the western market.

I've seen a lot of posts/tweets confused about the announcement because they used the HoloEN brand to advertise a StarsEN audition. A lot of people are under the assumption that they're going mixed gens like Nijisanji does.
StarsEN won't even be able to tap the Chinese market like Luxiem did because they're essentially banned on bilibili.
