Indonesia here, Nasi Goreng is always on my S tier and it's actually far more diversified with each areas. West Javans made their Nasi Goreng with mostly sweet onions sauce. Thus it's darker and sweeter. East Java made Nasi Goreng with tomato sauce, thus it's lighter in taste and more of a comfort food. Padangese made Nasi Goreng with Rendang Sauce. Surprisingly kinda bland. Chinese Indonesian made Nasi Goreng that almost white in appearance but they're pretty neutral for everyone.

There's no such thing as Indonesian food.
You have to be really specific on the region. The most popular are:
1. Padang
Rich curry and spicy.
2. Sundanese
Mostly fried, good sambal, raw salad.
3. Javanese (Central, East, and Jogja)
Central: Mostly steamed or smoked.
East: Rich
Jogja: Sweet
4. Balinese
Spicy, smoked.
