Is the chat truly necessary for a good stream experience? 3/4 of the time most chuubas don't even read it, and all of the time it's an absolute cesspool to rid.
Wouldn't getting rid of chat make streams infinitely more entertaining?

Look at that seethe. You can still interact with streamers in 1k viewer chats. If there is little to no streamer interaction with chat then there is literally no reason to watch the stream live.

Without allowing some kind of live interaction between the streamer and the audience there's no reason to have a LIVE stream in the first place and it might as well just be a prerecorded video.
But if you don't participate in that interaction then you miss nothing by not seeing it.

You seem unlucky then. Dolphin Chemist and Jabroni Mike read chat frequently. Hell Mike straight up said that 80% of his content his him bantering with chat. Twitch chat tends to be slower as well compared to YT vtuber chat. I was sitting in on a love Yugioh tournament with at least 9k people and it was moving as fast or slower than a small corpo chat of around 300 or so people, and chat was still read during the tournament. The only person I've ever really watched that has poor chat interaction (due to chat speed) is Vinny.
