The personalities of Luxiem are just so much in your face, loud and noticeable you can't ignore them. Be it Mysta's retarded shit, Luca's himbo energy or Vox's sex-voice it's incredibly easy to notice how they are at a glance and a short watch of their streams that people stick around.
It doesn't help that Yugo and Uki can barely stream and have had loads of problems, the one with the most personality in Noctyx is Fulgur but being an edgelord who reads your own fanfiction on stream is NOT an appealing thing for most people.
Obsydia is a good example of this actually, as Selen's loud personality is my exact point. She's got more subs than Pomu and her CCV is always better than Finana's despite being wave 2.
Ethyria has issues because both Reimu and Enna are at their best singing but neither sing enough to get known for it. Personality wise only Nina has anything unique to bring to the table, which is why she also has the most subs out of all of Ethyria.
Personality is a major factor and they wanted the boys to be as big a success as they could so they front loaded the best 5 they had into Luxiem. If they put Vox and Luca in wave two and did a good/evil thing with Luxiem as Mysta, Alban, Shu, Ike and Sonny then luxiem would have nowhere near been as big and Noctyx with Vox, Luca, Fulgar, Uki and Yugo then Noctyx would have more hype.
