>>20018046This effect probably has a proper name but I don't know what it is. I'll try to explain it though:
- A Holo has 20k viewers on average. If you make a fanwork of her, the vast majority of that 20k audience will be interested in it.
- 10 Niji talents have 2k viewers on average. The audience numbers add up to the same 20k total, BUT if you make a fanwork of any one of them, chances are only their individual audience of 2k will be interested. So you're dividing your audience by 10 for no particular gain.
So if I'm an artist and want to make a big, splashy fan project that gets noticed, I'm way better off picking out my favorite Holo rather than trying to do another chuuba, due to audience consolidation.
