When will we get EN gen 2? Watching the gen 1 debuts all in one day on /jp/ and getting wasted was the most fun I've had here in ages and now with /vt/ it'd be even better.

with Gura hitting 2m and Cali hitting 1m, they've still got plenty of momentum. doesn't mean they're not actively scouting for talent though, so keep doing your stream reps and apply when auditions open up.

Is it even a good idea for them to expand so fast? There are only so many people willing to watch and, more importantly, pay for this content. Íf they keep growing by five members every few months, eventually they're gonna start diluting their own audience with too many options.

It's already been 4 months.

By the time EN Gen 2 comes out it will probably be 7-8 months since debut.

Nijisanji will probably already have a 2nd Gen by the time Hololive Gen 2 comes out judging by how fast they release waves.

Probably not until later this year. holoEN VSinger is what they're focused on right now and if anyone passes that, they'll debut them before summer comes around. Then they gotta open up auditions for a gen 2.

Yeah but Nijisanji recruits literally everyone. It's why so much of their talent has either straight up quit or are wildly unpopular. YAGOO actually scouts out talent. How many graduations has Nijisanji had? 'Cause Cover's only had two, and you could argue Chris doesn't even count.

Ina's the only one streaming at this time, and it's splatoon. 8k people are tuning in. this isn't even counting for takamori both streaming Japan time because they live their.

having a full roster of EN vtubers mean constant content round the clock when Ame runs out of ideas for watchalongs and Gura's burned through her repertoire of karaoke songs. also helps spread out the danger of burnout since the pressure isn't on the 5 current EN members

That is the Nijisanji model, flood the market with livers and hope some of them make it. On the other hand Hololive takes forever between each gen, so realistically gen 2 might debut towards the end of the year.

I thought they just want to put more of an emphasis on singing this time around, but in the audition form, they ask about streaming experience too.

Those markets aren’t financially viable, they would be better off recruiting talents that stream in eu time. What would make more sense is to open a small HoloES branch, even if it isn’t profitable they can take control of that market until It is.

iirc EN1 auditions were late Q1/early Q2 2020 and debuted late Q3 2020, so ~two quarters after auditions.
Whoever's going to be the first VSinger(s) will probably debut early Q2 at the earliest.
As for EN2?
No idea, but early next year at the latest.

VSinger is a specific subcategory of VTuber e.g. AZKi, YuNi from Toy's Factory, or the whole of KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO. They primarily focus on music production and performance.

Cover's been doing this long enough to know that Gura is once in a lifetime deal. they're not gonna be able to imitate her level of success, especially given how much work she's done in her past life.

I would say there's gonna be a general EU branch that will have streams both in ENG and respective native languages. Otherwise freelancers will just fill the niche themselves.

You can either have a branch for EU that speaks mostly native languages and english on collabs or just have the ENGen2 do mostly EN and sometimes their respective native languages, besides, knowledge of english in the EU is quite high anyway, and going half-half between languages is hard to do if you want to maintain your audience
