my opinion turned around on her when i saw that clip of her talking to the superchat girl who said she was dying shortly, and was glad kiara made her feel better before she passed. she was so human and broken up by it i realized she was really one of those people who wear their heart on thier sleeve.
I watched some more of her content, she had gotten a better mic, and while her personality still grated i remember thinking "she's a genuen person, sure she's petty and a numberfag, but she's one of those autists who just has no filter. she says what she likes and doesn't like with little filter on herself.
When she was pushing toward a mil (the last of gen1) she talked aoout her own self doubts, she was worried people were subbing because they felt sorry for her, not because they liked her, and that was what sealed it for me. Subbed her because i did like her.
Sure, she's not my favorite vtuber, but i no longer hated or loathed her. in fact, i rather respected her drive to be good. of all of EN this is the one girl who absolutely wants to be the best streamer/entertainer, and idol in hololive. i can't hate someone who is always working to be better, even if her content isn't particularly great, you can tell she wants it to be great.
That performance though was outstanding. at holofes, she captured the audience and brought them along for the ride. the girl was born to be on stage as an idol. that was an outstanding performance. and her singing of hinotori was very good, it sounded so much better without her voice being drown in autotune.
