Are vtubers a symptom of young men checking out of society, or a cause? Or both? Do you think vtubers will make young men worse off in the long term or would some other kind of entertainment have filled the gap if they never existed or got popular?

Society is just transforming. I don't have anything to talk about with the average young person in my country, let alone my neighborhood.

Hobbies and subcultures are getting more and more niche.

In the past most people knew about soccer, about the latest TV show, the big name musicans. Nowadays everybody has a different favourite band, youtuber, Hobby, etc.

For me it's both. I got into vtubers because I didn't like society or mainstream entertainment, but the more I watch them, the more I find it hard to relate to normal people or any other activity.
