I agree that forcing someone to choose an identity that they don’t choose themselves is cancerous bullshit for the record; any therapy that does that (whether it tells them ‘oh you’re just you and will never be anyone else’ or ‘oh you ARE absolutely not what you were born as’) should be banned because the job of therapy is not to tell you who you are, it’s to help you work out who you are on your fucking own
