Out of curiosity, how fluent are you in Spanish an English? Because if you're at basically native level for both, can you tell me if shitty Japanese-Spanish (hell, even English-Spanish) translations give off the same SEAhomie vibes as any shitty, vaguely Asian sounding translation to English does?

If not that of our Austronegrian brethren, then what vibes do bad JP-ES and EN-ES machine translations give off?

I'm fluent in both Spanish and English, I even have pick up some english slang on the way.

The main thing to look out for is the gender of the words. Spanish is a gendered language and most words tend to be locked to a gender which is chosen almost arbitrarily. It's the first thing SSLs and sometimes even shitty translator apps fuck up.
It's a bit difficult to explain unless you already know Spanish, but i.e. think how Google often mistranslated Koro-san as Mr. Koro because of trying to adapt a genderless word to a binary gendered word - and extend that to an entire language.

Not him but there is not many tranlations or content in spanish in all topics, i dont have problem understanding the original audio but ive never seen someone who needs translation complain about translations, maybe in mangas where some translaters just copy paste from google and make some parts unreadable

Yeah, I get what you mean. Tbh I learned a bit of German before I picked up Spanish. I eventually dropped both and then later went back to German in high school.
It also means I've never found Spanish's genders challenging, since I didn't learn Spanish had genders until I learned that German did. I spent half of the first day of Spanish class wondering why the teacher wasn't talking about neuter gendered nouns yet.

Interesting. I've noticed Spanish doujins coming up on sadpanda. From what I can tell, the only trend in higher vs lower rated ones appears to be if the translator fucked up the graphics or used a shitty resolution or something

Also, on a funny side note, I've noticed Spanish and German both have major exceptions to their gender rules that trip people up.
>Spanish: anything ending with -a is feminine
>except día, literally one of the first nouns every gringo learns. That shit goes with el lolololol
>German: anything ending with -e is feminine
>except "Ende" (end), which is neuter.

I really don't read much in spanish for games or doujins or anything really, mainly because is a shitty Spain (Castellano) translation instead of Latin spanish. Then again I play to much niche stuff to really get a spanish translation and like >>20842521 said when it does happens is just a terrible translation.
