>>2143881He can have whatever opinions on loli he likes, Connor's problem is a little less obvious: it's his stance on gatekeeping and community insulation. He's of the opinion that everything should be 100% accessible, casualized, modernized etc, and to hell with the established culture or history. Which, who cares right, but that stance is beginning to affect us.
There are actually a fuckton of e-celebs who have let it be known that they are very big fans of hololive, but when asked a lot of them will tell you that they don't want to get too close with them - at least publicly - because of the problems it could cause to their careers, given the nature and idol culture of Hololive, which they partake in. They are (including, btw, Gigguk and Joey) content to watch from the sidelines and participate as a fan, on equal standing with the other goslings, as is a core tenet of the idol experience.
Connor though? No fucks given of course. Out of the three of them, it is obvious that he is the least into Vtubers, yet he has no qualms about trying to publicly befriend the Holos. Ame ignored him, smart girl she is, but Ollie...
Ollie is the weak link. She came into Hololive acting like a Vshojo essentially, which was never really an issue prior to this due to the endearing, if subservient 'simp' character she played. However, she has since shown that, unlike other Holos, she will associate with literally whomever as intimately as she pleases. Holostars, it's understandable since she's part of the same company, but it's ownly grown worse. E-celebs, seeing that the nigh impenetrable Hololive network has developed a vulnerability, have declared open season on Ollie, who has accepted them all with open arms.
None of this is bad in theory, but everybody knows that behavior like this threatens to jeopardize the walled garden nature of Hololive and dilute the elements that made it so unique and appealing in the first place.
TL;DR As much as I otherwise like the guy, Connor is a loud, stupid westerner
