Holos marketed themselves as an "idol" group. Even if it was a joke, they have already differentiated themselves from the competition. It also helps that Holos are actually entertaining and very talented too.
Nijisanji has so much overlaps with everyone exacerbated by the fact that their buff contents are tournaments, which means other smaller groups like Vspo would benefit from it too and maybe steal some of their audience.

It’s not the fact Hololive does “virtual idol” stuff that differentiate them, otherwise they would be a mid level virtual idol company handicapped by the fact they don’t use IRL people not hidden behind the avatars in their concerts, unlike those two mentioned above.
Hololive differentiates itself by not only doing “idol stuff” but doing regular gaming and variety live streaming on top of it, bridging two markets
>capturing people that would be interested in gaming streams, variety streams and introducing them to the “song and dance” side of Japanese culture
>capturing people that are already familiar to the “song and dance” side of Japanese culture and introducing them to live streaming

In my view it’s this two way bridge that makes Hololive unique in the market

Just look at this, influencer marketing/promotions had been becoming more mainstream lately and Hololive/Nijisanji had revived tons of games that a solo Japanese streamer couldn't. Both companies had become the de factor promotional tools for Japanese companies since TikTok has yet to gain a bigger traction there because of the oldies. It's a given that Cover would become a better choice than Niji, since Niji can't tardwrangle their talents or their talents doesn't have enough clout to promote something, other than having a large twitter engagement.

Not sure how 'Hope' figures into the picture yet, but she can be something, maybe big bad angel of 'hope and despair', or played straight as just an ally of 'hope'. instead of traveling through space, travel through multiverse (ameverse).... ok that's expanding the budget a bit too much... but anyways season 1 could be mainly SoL set in London as Watson's office becomes the living ground for various 'myths', or starts that way and episodes that show how she meets them.

Nijisanji was known for its top-heavy roster. However, that roster is slowly being reduced down to only Kuzuha and Mito on a few occasions. New recruits barely get high numbers these days, just look at Edengumi.

I don't have a horse in this race, but outside of sponsorships, none of the stuff you mentioned is a requirements for one group to be considered more or less successful than another group. VSPO itself is primarily an esports oriented agency, and anything besides tournaments is mostly secondary at best, unlike with Nijisanji who is primarily a general entertainment entity.

Like I said, no horse in this race, so I won't even justify the position of either. I just wanted to establish the correct frame of reference for you to make your argument.

Nah, Luna's precedent and Cover's experience in handling yabs should be able to turn any potential drama into null within a week or so (assuming they wiped any compromising PL videos like Aloe had).

Bigger issue I guess is the fact that NijiJP and HoloJP are friends, and most of the talents on both sides of the aisle seem mostly satisfied with where they are.
And one talent jumping ship like that, might break that image - and it's probably gonna be a domino-like fall for Niji as well (especially at this stage).
