Connor's point was trying to convince the honest Ironmouse that everyone can and should lie on their job applications, because once you get past the interview you'll be fine and can learn on the job. He was looking at the Hololive application as he said it, hence why he talked about them and said that it being a big thing would only make it more enticing to lie as you would have an audience even if you did suck. Ironmouse called him an idiot who doesn't understand the full audition process at all.
