On this fateful day, the Nijisanji Kingdom sent out an expeditionary force under the overall command of General Kanae to subdue the struggling kingdom of Hololive. To combat this threat, a punitive force under the overall command of General Subaru Oozora was sent to combat this threat, while a new foreign general, Kobo Kanaeru, was drafted from the island territories to conscript as many troops as possible in order to counteract the new threat. The territories, terrified at the outcome in the previous war where their former general Kaela Kovalskia disastrously lost to Nijisanji under the joint command of the Sanbaka, became more circumspect and lent less troops despite the new general's track record. The Hololive Kingdom, knowing a lot about the latter, paid no heed about this reluctance and was confident that the new general could muster a lot of troops despite it. However, the Nijisanji Kingdom thought the reverse: They had also deployed an elite squadron under the able leadership of General Kuzuha, and, as they had received reports of troop movement from three Hololive generals; Suisei Hoshimachi, Towa Tokoyami, and Aqua Minato; and hearing of the new general also coming their way, they calculated that they should still win the war: their enemy in spite of their great numbers were stretched too thin in order to combat their main forces. They were right: General Kanae crushed General Oozora's forces relatively easily, and were staring head-on at the headquarters of the Hololive Kingdom, where General Kanaeru had freshly marched in with her troops. As reports of the number of their opposing troops rolled in, the King of Nijisanji, Riku Tazumi, put out a grin: their strategy working as intended. Their opponent only managed to scrounge up 46,000 troops, while those of General Kanae numbered 52,000. With General Kuzuha handling the opponent's three generals all by himself, Riku was confident of another victory. He then gave General Kanae a signal to attack. Trying desperately to withstand the full strength of the Nijisanji army's superior numbers, General Kanaeru's troops held on bravely, but slowly her lines began to give way as their enemies executed attack after attack. But, just as all hope began to be lost for the Hololive defenders, the footsteps of a large army began to manifest on their right. The same was heard by the Nijisanji army, which began to be perplexed as to what happened to their other army that was stationed at that area. This was followed by an even larger rumble from their rear. As they looked at both directions, they saw the banners emblazoned with a flying comet to their right, and at the back they saw banners emblazoned with an anchor; and they were terrified on seeing that banner. That was the banner that ruled and trampled all over them in numerous times past, and as the reports of the troop numbers of that contingent rolled in, their overall mood changed from elation to terror in an instant. It had seemed that the forces they trusted on, led by their trusted general, was bested by General Hoshimachi, and because of that, the forces under the dreaded General Minato only endured a minimal damage to their ranks, and, with more than 60,000 soldiers at General Minato's disposal, it will break any illusion they had in winning the war. They then sounded the retreat, but General Minato's troops caught up with them, heavily destroying their rearguard.
