>>21374407anon, text books have always said that vaccines are to help the immune system, the history of vaccines is based on the fact the guy who invented it noticed how cow maids wouldnt die as much to small pox compared to others, cowpox gave them higher immunity to both cow and small pox.
cow maids still died to smallpox but more survived then the normal populace.
vaccines have always been counter measures, not cures or 100% preventive.
unfortunately a lot of the US isnt properly educated on this so they just assumed it was able to prevent infection completely.
