>>21370042Indonesian here, I do agree that some of my countrymen loves to shit on their own country and people (tho it's worse in flipland). For me, it shows that:
1. they're not knowledgeable enough about other country's history, that rich countries now used to be as shitty as their country
2. they only consume polished products of other country's culture, like Hollywood movies or animes, where everything in the developed countries looks glittering, they never knew that rich country also has a lot of assholes and issues
3. they live in a shitty part of the country. If they're Indonesian I bet they live in Jakarta, the first time I went there I was shocked by how barbaric the people are. Most of them do not abide by the traffic rules, throwing trash everywhere, shat on riverside, and speaks very loudly, something that almost never happens in where I lives (central java), tho it's getting better nowadays compared to 10 years ago
