Them being transfered to china company was one of the options the puppet masters were going for (industry standard chinese takeover option). The other option (what we got) was hololive imploding in china, for the benefit of chinese vtuber companies and bilibili, that would later take the scraps of what was left from the holoCN talents.
Either way they were going to take hololive's chinese market for themselves, using both Coco and the holoCN girls as pawns.
Funny how they also tried some bullshit with Aqua and Fubuki, who were the most popular in china. Aqua had the leaked cover controversy, and they also tried to "steal" her from cover into china hands, but ended up mostly unscathed.
Fubuki, being as based as usual, saw that shit coming (wonder if she had cover insider info) and pulled out way before the yabstorm finished, and has been spammed since.
