Not sure about other agencies let alone indies, but Hololive had strong overseas following even pre Covid. It will recline or stagnant, but I doubt they become irrelevant, especially chuubas with cult like fanbases like Kiara or Rushia

People are more likely to subscribe when they are reminded that it's a thing they can do, especially while they're still feeling presumably positive emotions after watching your content.
People who are subscribed see more of your content and are thus more likely to watch more.
Content that gets interacted with a lot gets recommended more often to new people.
And obviously the more people you have watching your content, the larger your potential earnings.

This isn't new, this is literally how YouTube has been functioning for years. YouTubers reminding their viewers to "like, comment, and subscribe" is a meme because a lot of YouTubers actually do say it, because it actually works.

Vtubers are just streamers with an anime avatar. As long as those two things are popular they should be too. Anime has done nothing but increase in popularity since it's introduction to the western market, and the popularity of streamers has a fairly good track record despite not being around as long.

Hololive is pretty clearly sucessful enough that its its probably gonna be successful as long as weeb culture is, and weeb culture is becoming kinda accepted now in the west.

I would probably say that projekt melody and codemiko are popular enough that their gonna be like any other creator.

Independents are gonna struggle but so is anyone starting from nothing these days.

My guess would probably be that it ends up with Vtubers forming collab groups and it becoming more like "people need to get into an established group to get big"

There's a shelf-life for any trend.
There will come a day when it stagnates and the audience declines, but it won't kill off VTubing entirely and the bigger creators will still be just fine despite that. There might be a time even later when there's a renewed wave of interest.

A big factor is how VR progresses over the next few years. VR growth is slow, but it is happening. If it doesn't slow down, that alone will mean more people interested in and accustomed to interacting with virtual avatars.

however, on the tech side vtubers will probably have a major hand in that in the growth of live streaming. there will be all kinds of live production techniques that will be pioneered by vtubers that will subsequently be used by livestreamers (sort of analogous to how early video streaming and codecs were heavily influenced by anime fansubbers).

everyone who has a brand has been moving away from instagram. the nice thing is that it basically maintains itself, but no one takes it seriously anymore. even OnlyFans is actually garbage if you want money. engagement is over on tiktok if you want eyes on you, but even then you're not making money from it.

this really depends on what you're looking to get out of it. if you're looking for a job, don't. the established producers will continue to control the majority of eyes and revenue. if you're trying to edge in on a niche market (like vtubing) that's an even steeper hill to climb.

yeah, because youtube hadn't changed their algorithms to push people who got more Likes, Comments, and Subscriptions.

they also recently changed it up so that Community Polls would keep getting pushed out which is how folks like Dream skyrocketed to popularity by abusing the changed algorithms to constantly get their shit pushed out to Recommendeds.
